 1.1. School profile

SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY



Saint Louis University is the name of the university where I chose to come and practice. The school's abbreviation is SLU, founded on December 1, 1911 by CICM missionaries.  

Saint Louis University offers program at the elementary, secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels. It has campused throughout the Baguio metro politan. It's under the CICM Philippines School Network or CICM-PSN. It's the oldest of the CICM-PSN schools. It's the largest university north of Manila with more than 40.000 student (elementary, high school and college combined) as of A.Y.2018-2019.

1.2. Academic support system

   The school has quite a few teachers and the teachers I had the opportunity to meet and talk to were all very enthusiastic teachers, they taught and guided me very enthusiastically. And here there are also teachers who come to practice at the school. I was quite impressed when the school equipped a loft for students to rest, prepare for observation classes and practice teaching. The school is very large and almost every classroom is fully equipped with projectors, televisions, whiteboards, pens... teaching support equipment and complete tables and chairs for students to enter the classroom. Because the weather is cold, the school does not need air conditioning.




Some equipment: TV, tables and chairs, projectors... help teachers and students easily study.



 

  

1.3. Teaching system

The teaching system here is extremely good. I always see that after each class, the students greet their teachers brightly and smilingly at the end of the class, very happy. Perhaps the school's teaching style and teaching system are suitable for students' development, helping them have fun while studying, contributing to improving students' learning abilities.

As I introduced above, their teaching process is from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:40 am. Learning takes place with the teacher's teaching and the student's creativity and practice, in which, if the student does not understand a certain issue, the teacher will explain until the student understands.

   1 .1 . Curriculum The curriculum in the school is compiled from school textbooks in the Philippines.     1. 2. Teaching plan related to your major As an intern, I have to prepare lesson plans related to the lesson before teaching. After preparing the lesson plan, I will send it online to the teacher and when I come to class I will send a paper copy of my lesson plan content to her.
